About Dr. Taranum

Arshia Taranum, DDS, is the lead general dentist of Illinois Dental Center of Belmont in Chicago, Illinois. A dental professional with a long-standing reputation of excellence in her field, Dr. Taranum brings her years of professional experience in both the United States and India to patients at the Belmont Central practice. Dr. Taranum possesses the gift of excellent communication with her patients and listening to their chief complaints. Her great relationship with patients is obvious, as most of them refer to her fondly as “Dr. Arshia!”

Dr. Taranum was a practicing dentist in India but attended dental school again in America at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014. With her years of training, Dr. Taranum is skilled in many areas of dentistry but has a strong interest in Endodontics and Oral Surgery, and a passion for Implant Dentistry. She confidently performs treatments and displays her excellent dexterity and precision through various surgical procedures, including Sinus Lifts and Ridge Split surgeries. Dr. Taranum is also a certified Invisalign® provider and can help patients achieve a straighter, more vibrant smile.

With her close relationship with her fellow dentists and the entire staff, Dr. Taranum and her team lead with a care philosophy that values positive patient experiences. After comprehensive examinations, Dr. Taranum educates each patient on the best possible treatments to help them achieve optimal oral health and feels greatly rewarded when her patients leave satisfied. She is comfortable treating patients of all ages and enjoys seeing happy and healthy smiles on everyone. To better serve more patients, Dr. Taranum is fluent in English and Urdu.

When she is not working, Dr. Taranum’s hobbies include traveling to different places, playing sports, and having fun with her two sons and husband.
